Full course description
To highlight unique STEM careers held by BIPOC Deaf women, CSD Learns hosted a four-week-long program in collaboration with General Motors in the Spring of 2022. Featuring four STEMists, or individuals who work in STEM fields, the exploratory program provided guidance for high school students on visualizing their career interests. This visualization includes how significant their identities matter in those career fields.
Enhanced with thought-provoking activities, modules cover a variety of STEM careers in industry, academia, and research. With captivating video interviews of the four role models' backgrounds and experiences, high school students can learn their life stories and consider their advice. Instructors can use this program to supplement their instruction on a variety of topics such as STEM fields, STEM careers, and the intersection between identity and STEM. This toolkit is ready for instructional use, both inside and outside the classroom.
